Unfortunately, paints bond best when temperatures are in a narrow range, both for application and for drying. Painting in cold weather using alkyd or oil paints requires even more time—in some instances, more than 48 hours before recoating.

Painting wood in the cold. The wall temperature can vary from the weather temperature and must be above 10°c and below 35°c throughout the painting process.
